Some reasons to exercise...

Exercise has so many benefits for your health!  If you find something that you enjoy doing (ice skating, jogging, zumba class) then you will be more apt to keep exercising!  Make it fun :)

According to Shape magazine, exercise can have some pretty awesome affects on your health!

  • You are 20% less likely to get heart disease if you do high-intensity exercise on most days of the week
  • You are 25% less likely to develop depression or anxiety if you stick to a vigorous routine than those who exercise at a lower intensity
  • You are 86% less likely to develop diabetes if you're fit, compared to a sedentary person
On WebMD, Barbara Russi Sarnataro wrote an article called Top 10 Fitness Facts that has some interesting points.
  1. Exercise Boosts Brainpower
  2. Movement Melts Away Stress
  3. Exercise Gives You Energy
  4. It's Not That Hard to Find Time for Fitness
  5. Fitness Can Help Build Relationships
  6. Exercise Helps Ward Off Disease
  7. Fitness Pumps Up Your Heart
  8. Exercise Lets You Eat More
  9. Exercise Boosts Performance
  10. Weight Loss Is Not the Most Important Goal

Welcome to my blog!

Welcome to my blog!  I'm Jen Ostergren, and I live in Springfield, Missouri.  Fitness has always been a passion of mine.  The more research I have done, the more I realize how important it is for us to take care of our bodies.  We only get one shot at it!  I am a Certified Personal Trainer and I love being able to help clients reach their goals and have a healthier lifestyle!

Getting our body in shape isn't something that simply affects how we look on the outside.  Exercise affects our mood, and our overall health.  There are many benefits to exercise, from our nose to our toes!  Nutrition is also very important. If you aren't properly fueling your body, you won't be able to give a maximum effort.  This doesn't include only fitness, it includes your everyday life.  Things like playing with your kids at the playground, taking a walk with a friend, having more energy...  your nutrition affects all of these things!

Here is where I come in- you may want to be in better shape but you don't know where to start.  Or maybe you are already working out out but you are not getting the results you wish for.  My job is to find out your goals and help you set new ones.  Then together we will set up a program to help you attain them!  Through exercise and nutrition advice, I will be cheering you on and pushing you to reach your goals!
